So now we're grown up and parents and everything, apparently the done thing is to write a Will. Whose got the knowledge on the best way to go about doing it properly whilst not being comprehensively ripped off? Anyone used any on-line services for Wills? Also any solicitors that anyone can recommend (or to avoid). They don't necessary need to be local (to Shef) I guess. Are the DIY kits/software any good? I think we have a fairly standard setup, nothing too unusual, unless Mrs Obi hasn't been telling me about her multiple off-shore accounts. ;D

we can get it done through the bank account we have (barclays additions) as part of our account package.
Can you not get it done through work or pensions company?
Haven't got round to doing it yet tho.
My parents only got round to doing their will a couple of years ago

Most wills are just a cut and paste from precedent books. I'll check my old hard drive and see if I have a template.
In simple terms wills are straightforward documents which only get complex if you're settling land or creating a complex will trust.
PS not my area of law

I'd have gone for "will power".
I think i asked a similar thing Obi on a thread not so long ago and got good advice, not that i did owt about it. Maybe see if you can find it on search.

I think I'd have used "will you, won't you?"

We got one done by our solicitor for free when we bought our house. Figure he made enough out of it anyway. Need to change it now though.
The key is keep it simple, we just did ours in the form of a DVD to be played to our family on the event of our death.
-
I can see it now:
"In the eventuality that I died peacefully in my sleep, skip to scene 3. For an untimely death involving a car/plane/jetski accident, skip to scene 4. For a protracted battle against a debilitating illness skip to scene 5......"

Word. Fully interactive with director's commentary.

And funny out-takes. Like the scene when Chris messed up his own death and only got hurt.

Cheers for the info, sound like the first thing to check out is Mrs Obi's union.

Several of these, I call these scenes going climbing / biking / surfing etc.
