Title: Worlds hardest!
Post by: Hoseyb on November 20, 2009, 08:35:08 pm
Squeeze chimney? 5.13 apparently.

I Suppose its of fairly low interest to most over here (even over there) but it still seems pretty inspiring in terms of effort, dedication etc..

Found this amongst all the septic brown-nosing. Looks Radical.

I thought that was a new project...

You're probably right FD, its not very clear. Reading the thread is making me very angry so I'll have to leave it at that. If you find a pic that would be good.

I managed to weed out the gush, and deciphered the fact that that picture shows an old Haston Project. 120' inverted offwidthing. It's gonna be bastard hard if Stevie gave up on it!

There are currently no photos circulating of the new route, which I believe to be called Gabriel.

Fuck! I should become a translator!

The Photo's of the route appear to have been edited out the thread, maybe saving the images for someone who'll pay for them..

Its a fairly small specialist forum, where everyone knows each other pretty well, so please excuse the language.

And this is a new level of effort.

tbh I'm not surprised its a chick. If its a squeeze chimney then blokes may be too wide to get in properly.

You'd be fine.

this would be a little more interesting if there was an article or some mention of the nature of the climbing, how the lead went etc and some photos obviously

I don't want to seem like Shanti's publicist or any thing but here it goes.

Bridge up into a cave and shimmy out until the flare and constriction forces a kick and drop into an invert. 30ft of upside down horizontal wiggling, with a constriction that has to be cartwheeled around, leads to the lip where the chimney temorarily shuts down to plain off fists, once passed its conventionial 5.12 to the belay.

The shots I've seen makes ray's roof seem like the mincer

If it is Stevie's old project then there were some photos in one of his columns in the mags

Vaguely remember shots of him looking bonkers over some big Big Bro's,in his old OTE column.

Pretty sure this isn't Stevie's old project. Desciption doesn't add up and Pamela still has Stevie's project as being one of her aims for the future as of a few days ago. So presume this most be some other test piece monster.

Can't wait to go out there.
