Title: Campus Board Closest To Warrington
Post by: winston on October 15, 2009, 02:16:16 pm
All,

Recently moved to Warrington and am looking at doing some Campus Training over the winter. Anyone know where the nearest Campus board is? Is it Manchester? There isn't one at Warrington Wall right?

Also, checked out Pex Hill Wednesday evening. What a place!! Anyone know if it stays in reasonable nick over the Winter?

Cheers,

Winston

Awesome Walls in Liverpool will soon host three new campus boards (to replace the poor one it currently has), along with a new woody.

Pex can stay in great condition in the winter, especially Pisa Wall.  A few dry days will bring most of it (except Dateline wall) into the realms of great friction.  It is generally best in October, November and then February and March.  Rain depending obviously.

I just love the mention of campussing and Pex in the same breath. Amazing.

Thanks Ben. Liverpool is probably a bit closer than Stockport - which seemed a bit far to go just to access a campus board.

Monolith - You have to train all aspects right?

You sure do hombre. I was just imagining Ben campussing, thinking about his climbing style and probably his favourite venue and the hilarity of it all. Sure you'll meet him and us soon mate. Take it easy and look out for a dodgy fellow called richie crouch ;)

The campus rungs at Broughtoon have just been replaced with new proper ones. Also some proper ones have been added to the back of the boulder which is a bit steeper so they're pretty tricky to hang never mind campus! Depending on which side of Warrington you live it might be loads quicker to get there than Stockport

Went tonight, it is true. But it is rubbish. Not steep enough so you bang your chest/stomach all the way up it.

who would build a campus board in a wall and not know what they were doing? theres been no excuse for a bad campus board since wolfgang made one. the matrix doesn't count as its for students, who shouldn't count either

New one in Liverpool will be fine winston. Sure crouch or the like will post a message when it's good to go (and the new board which should be immense).

Too be fair, its only a few degrees out, and it might be my belly catching on the rungs.
