I do a lot of basic videos using my stills camera and am considering upgrading to get better quality footage.
I've only just started my search and am unsure whether to get a stills camera with HD recording or a HD camcorder with good stills output.
Any good recommendations welcomed.

any advice? i'm considering getting a Samsung HMX-H100P

HD camcorder with good stills output.
How good? The Mighty HV20/30/40 can take reasonable stills up to 2048 x 1536, but even then they are not as good as £100 stills camera can take.
What sort of budget are you looking at in total?

Budget up to £500.
Have been looking at the Flash camcorders that use SD cards. Have been looking at these:
Sony Handycam HDR-CX105E
Samsung HMX-H104
Panasonic HDC-SD20
Canon LEGRIA HF200

I know £2.50 about camcorders, but probably worth making sure they support a) high speeds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital#Speeds); b) High capacity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital#SDHC).
