Title: Photoshop CS3/4 for PC
Post by: Fj on September 21, 2009, 11:06:30 am
My trial of CS3 is so its time to get the full program.
Does anyone know of a good place to get a copy?
I've had some problems with the usual places you'd go to 'buy' it.

I believe discussion of where to obtained illicit software is discouraged on these forums so that Bubba doesn't get his door busted down by the Feds.

Cheers Slacks - for the record It's ok to discuss where to get it, just don't post actual links to the file(s) etc.

The best version to get is "Photoshop CS4 Micro" - search the torrent sites, etc and you will find. It's less than a 60mb file and has had all the activation stuff ripped out of it. Works perfectly.

I was careful with my wording, so as not to imply I wouldnt be buying a copy.

I tried one of those stripped down versions and it was missing some crucial functionality, such as the ability to edit file info/IPTC, which for digiatl images distributed electronically is about all I use PS for.

I've just checked my version and indeed it is missing the functionality that JB has mentioned above.

Looks like the freeware XnView (http://www.xnview.com/) will do it quite happily though if you need to do this.

I got the full Adobe CS4 without too much effort. Just search amongst the usual suspects - its about 7Gb tho so dont expect it to arrive any time soon :)

That's the problem with it really - huge download. The full version ("Extended") that I got was about 3gb I think. Had loads of hassle with the activation so I ran the Adobe CS4 Clean Tool then went back to the Micro version which has most of the functionality you'll need anyway.

I ended up installing an additional firewall to prevent certain software accessing the internet at all.

what activation you using Nick?

You have to replace one of the dlls in the application root and then run a script which makes an entry into the hosts file so that the address for the adobe license server is pointing back to itself. I think you app is just the basic unadulterated one you can download from adobe on trial.

If you PM me an address i'll send you the required files and instructions

The version we have involves turning the date back everytime you use it.  Annoying, but worth the price of 'fuck all'

well unless you need to edit file info like adam then you should get the micro version, only about 50mb and no need to change any dates or do any activation. boom

Jim - I have Photoshop CS4 running on my x64 Windows 7 laptop. I just have to run a keygen every month or so to reactivate - takes about 2 seconds. Let me know if you want me to mail it to you (it's 69Kb in size).
