The boots were given to certain athletes to test before the jet 7s. James had some and said they were awesome. 5.10 then brought out the jet 7, oops!
-
However james' were yellow so maybe these little blue dancing shoes are a new model!
Who knows!!!!
-
I got incredibly excited when I saw this as I want another pair V10s.
It's almost a puntering offence to mention 'new V10's coming' when it might/probably be false hope... :spank:
-
However james' were yellow
way to go D. ::) ;)
let's hope they are new then.
-
maybe the blues, like with the velcros, are the shorties model, and robinson has just got dainty feminine feet.
-
or no feet at all. peglegged motherfucker.

James has yellow V10's with velcro strap.
Said to be priceless
-
I've got yellow V10s and a roll of gaffertape. check me the fuck out.

Fucking hell they sound amazing what they retail at? Does unfounded knowledge come with them?
-
they do look a lot like v10's, just checked the 5.10 sie and it didn't show anything about them, i hope they bring them back, they were great and those damn jet 7's don't fit my super wide feet...bollocks!
-
Anyone wearing 5.10 shoes in the next two weeks likes receiving it anally from hOUD. ;)
-

Who knows!!!!
Who's James anyway? and why do we care that he had some random V10like clogs two years ago? Robinson wouldn't be going on Video with these blue meanies unless 5.10 (his main sponsors) told him to... or at least that's what i'm working real hard on convincing myself into...
-
James Pearson
-
I just met a guy who'd innovated the very same boots that James was wearing. One pair of V10's, one Madrock strap . VOILA!

hmmm those heels look a bit dodgy
-
hmmm don't look much like V10s either....
-
hmmm those heels look a bit dodgy
they do look very flat but there's quite a lot of rubber slingshotting the heel, maybe that'll help them stay on. Unlike the projects.
-
They remind me of the old 5.10 (?)Rock Socks, at a glance
-
I had a chance to fondle these shoes the other day. Keep in mind that they are just prototypes, and the final version will not be out until Spring of 2010 so the final product is still up in the air. That said, they reminded me a lot of the last version of the V10s. The velcro strap is supposed to help the heal stay on better. Should be interesting to see what the final product looks like. I for one can't wait.
-
Spring 2010... ouch
-
Notice how the shoes are now blurred in the picture (here and on the blog). Maybe something we weren't all supposed to see?
-
Some more from Jorgeson, this time video, deffo looks like same clogs used by Robinson on psychedelic:

That's some qualidy gurn action right there. Who cares about the shoes?

Are the projects a waste of time then?? just deciding whether to get another pair of dragons or try something new
-
I certainly wouldn't think of them as a replacement to my dragons if they wore out.
The projects are much softer, less down turned and the heel isn't as good as the dragons.

ah ok, they sound alot like the jet 7's
-
more like jet 7's than dragons thats for sure.
-
all climbing shoes' manufacturers repeat after me:
"heel must be entirely covered in rubber, heel must be entirely covered in rubber, heel must be entirely covered in rubber, heel must be entirely covered in rubber" ad infinitum until you learn.

Was chatting to someone from the official Five Ten page on Facebook and he pasted this from an email from Paul Robinson that he had..
"I find the shoe to fit very well these fit similar to the old v10, PERFECT! amazing! i totally think this is the best heel put on a 510 shoe. Very similiar to the v1o but very greatly improved."
He asked me to put this on here. Sounds good to me!
-
So Five Ten say Five Ten shoes are brilliant. I'm sold.
-
Was in font over the weekend and the fella with the van at Rocher Aux Sabots had lots of V10, mainly small sizes thou. Worth a trip greasing off your favorite problem if your a fan of these babies.
-
Noticed a pair of v10's on ebay this morning. uk9.5. They are brand new by the looks of them.

Haha, this guy advertised them on UKC but then obviously released people would pay a premium for them and stopped replying to my emails. Jerk.

I just got a brand new pair of v10's on ebay for £31. I thought uk 7.5 might have been more popular!
-
Seems Davey G is using them as his boot of choice too...

ahhh... new shoes........
-
Looks like five ten are following Scarpa, and Redchili in having a large patch of rubber on the toe.
-
Wont be available to buy till Spring 2010 though :(

Was that a joke?! The V10's have been out for a fair few years now with a rather sizeable amount of rubber on the top.
-
hmmm don't look much like V10s either....
actually they do look like V10s. hooray. except in the blurb it says a totally new last, boo.

lets hope they haven't messed it up. Why discontinue a fan favourite we all cried! Only good thing is the strap and the overwelmingly good response by their sponsored testers
-
Lol good responses from sponsored testers aren't really worth shit though are they (as Jasper mentioned earlier)? Hopefully they will be as good as they look, but I'm not holding my breath! I just hope they don't discontinue the Dragons!

maybe they'll make velcro versions of the dragons :P
-
The original Dragons were velcro. Or was that your point?

The word from the SLC tradeshow is 510 pairs to be released worldwide this autumn, when I hear a date I'll let you know!
-
this is not going to be priced like slippers of old – expect to pay top wack for this one.

we're inching ever so closer (pic from recent ukc article)

Ever so disappointingly, I found out last night that these will only be available in sizes 5 or larger. :furious:
Not that any of you care.
-
Quite a blow to all the under elevens year olds.

-
I'm worried these are going to be all floppy and rubbish like the projects as they have the same thickness of rubber innit? Has anyone actually got their mits on a pair yet to ease my fears? Perhaps a stiffer midsole?
-
allegedly the rubber is thicker

possibly the 'limited editions' this website mentions....only 510 pairs made
http://touchstoneclimbing.com/labels/Five%20Ten.html (http://touchstoneclimbing.com/labels/Five%20Ten.html)
then spring 2010 for a rerelease
-
Does that 510 figure count the inevitable hundred or so that'll have to go back when they fall appart in the first week?

Does anybody else get the feeling that 5.10 are being run by retards? Why do they do this?!

just got my hands on a pair of these today, not climbed in them yet but 1st impressions are;
shoes look excellent, like the bobbly friction fabric thats all over it
dislike the heel cut out, it is coated with something and at least is on the inside of the heel (the bit i use the least)
be prepared these are a tight shoe, just put mine on for the 1st time, took 5 minutes lol. however once theyre on feel similar to v10s although the heel feels much better as a result of the tight fit (i had a lot of play in the v10 heels) also the velcro seems to secure the shoe very well
overall syked!!
will report back wen iv climbed in them a bit
hueco next week for their maiden voyage yyfy
-
even better than V10s dare i say it? hooky and precise, feel like you are cheating on steepness.
-
GOt a pair of these at the Arch in London Bridge a couple of days ago! Fred somehow managed to secure a bunch of these for his minishop... so far they feel amazing. I'm still breaking them in. I climb 9.5 in Dragons, got the teams at 9. and I pretty much have to use a plastic bag to get into them :bounce:
But once they are on they feel very very nice and of course snug. heal is the best I ever had on any shoe, which is the benefit of the tighter entry. toes feel slightly wider than my dragons but then again its very hard to say as they haven't broken in yet which means I dont really feel I have toes at this point when I climb in them. they are exquisitely well made and in terms of stiffness they feel just right. very sensitive (more than the Dragons) yet supportive enough for me. much better than those weird projects... I'm not sure how much like the V10 are they but I think they are gonna turn out to be amazing. oh rubber is also zuper good.
-
but I think they are gonna turn out to be amazing. oh rubber is also zuper good.
So Five Ten will no doubt cease production of them next year.
-
Seeing as they are not flying off the shelves it's no suprise that smaller outlets are stocking them.
I do hope that 5.10 continue to make them as they are fricking awesome
-
this is the same as the v10. no one had any then when they stopped making them everyone started moaning.
-
I couldn't find a pair that fitted right :'(
