Title: 2 Days in Wales
Post by: Krank on April 21, 2009, 11:01:33 am
I going to wales for a couple of days next week and i'm after some suggestions for the 2 best venues to checkout. I am climbing 6c-7b, so a good spread around these grades would be best. Any highballs with good landings would be perfect, but i will be on my own so the landings need to be fairly friendly.  Cheers

There's not a great deal there but if you haven't been already been then I'd take a morning out to get to the caseg boulder.

Caseg was the only possible on my list, The Groove looks reet good. Dont mind there not being a huge ammount there, i am looking to do a bit of filming of some good problems in nice settings, so quality over quantity is whats needed.

Yeah, go to Sheep Pen or Braichmelyn.  Although Sheep Pen could be really hot if the sun is out.  Plenty more quality in Ogwen too, maybe check out the Pit or Caseg Fraith.

After Caseg (if you have a few hours left) go to sheep pen, Kingdom of rain, the pinch, gnasher all good 7a's, if too late go to boneyard/caseg fraith and do the arete and slab problems all v good v3-5 and traverse v8, about 10 minutes drive from caseg.  On the other day do a circit round utopia, grove, wavelength and the domes.

Cheers guys, im starting to think i might have to stay for the week and not just 2 days. Is The Cave the only wet weather venue, incase of disaster.

I think Hyll Drem is a good wet weather alternative, but lots of people hate it.
