Title: How to use quotes
Post by: Bubba on February 11, 2009, 02:06:09 pm
Since many people are baffled by using quotes in the forum, i've created a similar guide to Slackline's image guide in the wiki.

http://ukbouldering.com/wiki/index.php/HowTo_use_Quotes (http://ukbouldering.com/wiki/index.php/HowTo_use_Quotes)

Hope that helps, please add anything i've missed. I'll probably shrink the images as they're a bit large.

Looks good to me - definitely shrink the image files though as the point that they are trying to make is somewhat lost when you have to scroll across the page to see it and maybe use something from DFBWDC instead under the guise of quality control.

Do not change quotes

It goes without saying that is bad form to change the text within quotes, as this rather defeats the object of quoting. Please refrain from doing this (unless its really really funny)

 :P

Looks good, one thing though I've found though is that I'm directing people to the page when they have a problem, perhaps a prominent link to the Wiki in the top of the forum might make it easier for people to find these and other pages as their written.

Perhaps....

Or at a bare minimum a sticky in this forum directing people to the Wiki FAQ.

Looks good Bubba, I can't imagine many people will struggle to follow that, it's very straight forward.  I'll be a bit sad if we lose the quoting clusterfucks though, they're highly amusing.  ;D
