In the light of all the Rhapsody shenanigans, its interesting to note the Ethan Pringle has made a one-day (two top ropes then first attempt) second second ascent of Sonnie Trotters hard trad thing The Path. At least on a par with Steve's ascent of Rhapsody? They're quite good these 'sport climbers' aren't they?

I climbed with Ethan in Rodellar on my road trip last year. In one day he onsighted 7c, 8a+ (falling off the 8c extension when a hold broke), 8b, 8b+ and warmed down with an 8a! Yep, he's a beast alright.

that's not a bad day!
he's obviously a nutter as well judging by some of the high balls he does...

Great effort by Pringle. I found this about the Path, sounds pretty knarly!

I agree that its on a par with Steve's effort on Rhapsody as although that climb rates 2 grades harder than the Path (14c to 14a), Steve did not do Rhapsody in a day. I think it becomes difficult to compare people's efforts on routes at this level as the pressures of runouts on trad affect difficult folks in different ways and these routes are obviously about more than mere technical difficulty.

Word. It's quite a grey area.
Bon effort by Pringles. The Path did look pretty damn cool in the video clip.
