Wow - whoever the teacher was....plz fuck off and die
-
isn't it supposed to be one fo the "rules" of geology that you're only supposed to pick rocks up off the floor, not off the crag?
presumably the same teacher would educate kids about nature by going out and cutting some trees down and shooting some animals? I hate to think how he would teach them about war. fukkin idiot.
-
i read it in a textbook that you are supposed to go to a crag and chip bits off, my mum was about to buy it for her school but i hid it so she couldn't get the ISBN number.
-
sex education might be interesting though.
The school's website is here: http://www.bgs.bradford.sch.uk/
I suspect a few people may be contacting them with their thoughts on this matter....me included.

Makes you wonder whether the RHS chipping weren't the work of 'geology' students too.

Just sent this to the headteacher...
With regards to the vandalism at Shipley Glen as reported by the BMC at
http://www.thebmc.co.uk/news_det.asp?item_id=900
1. “Under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, English Nature can, in certain circumstances, take action to prevent damage to a site by those who own the land or who have a legal interest in it. In this instance, however, the damage has been effected by "third parties" who have no legal interest in the land. To stop this, the only option is for English Nature to ask the Secretary of State for a Nature Conservation Order under Section 29 of the 1981 Act. If such an Order is granted, anyone whose actions harm the wildlife interest of a site can be prosecuted.

To whom it may concern;
the vandalism caused at Shipley Glen by pupils and teachers at your school was unacceptible. would you allow them to chip hunks off of yoru school building? i think not, and now you have destroyed millions of years of erosion and weathering for nothing, really. thank-you very much indeed.
yours, Ax

You might want to write to the Head of English whilst you're at it. :)
-
is andy really signing his name as "Ax", i.e. the american version of "axe" - or was it just "A" and a kiss??? Thats a bit overfriendly.
Lots of love

Dear Ax,
All of northern England was covered in glacial ice during the last ice age ca. 10,000 years ago, hence, the 'erosion and weathering' that you refer to can only be this old at a max, rather than 'millions'.
Maybe you should write to the geography teacher as well whilst you're writing to the English teach......
