Bon Iver's new album (first in 5 years i believe). Absolute peach. Sounds to me like some has taken his typical folk songs, cut them up, reorder them and played it through all sorts of filters and effects pedals. I really like it. Any other takes?

This single gives you a good idea, what is in store.

This is beautiful. Thanks for pointing it out Jamie!
Sounds like his colab with James Blake was an indication of him taking a new, more hook-driven and glitch-y direction.
-
Yeah, good point. He's done a bunch of collaborations over the last few years. Haven't ever really taken to James Blake, maybe I should give his stuff another listen.
-
The Iver/ Blake collaboration got me both hooked on James Blake and opened my eyes to Bon Iver. Before that feelings were a bit meh, but now I've seen the light. Got tickets to see James Blake at Brixton, cannot wait!

Just listening now.. Enjoying it so far. An evolution from "Bon Iver" which gets a regular outing at our place and you can certainly hear the James Blake influence. It's been a good year for new music compared to 2015 I think. Looking forward to the annual best-of-the-year round up. Ryley Walker, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Jenny Hval, Zomby, Anohni, Vijay Iyer/Wadada Leo Smith, Moodymann, Neurosis, loads of good electronic & dance & esoteric stuff.
Mr Chaz, James Blake is really good live. Sadly when we went to see him play in Shephard's Bush it was ruined a bit by idiots talking loudly throughout. Hope it's better in Brixton...

Not to mention a certain man in a tracksuit.

I've been wracking my brains all day but keep on thinking of Jimmy Saville... Who's the mystery tracksuit wearer?

Too funny - I had exactly the same thought!

To put you out of your misery, I was talking about Skepta - Konnichiwa is a total gem.

Grime innit.
