Title: Climbing near Chania, Crete
Post by: Rich Armour on June 25, 2018, 01:54:49 pm
Hi folks,

Do any of you have any experience of the climbing around Chania in Crete?

We're looking at maybe going around September time, the gf wants some beach time and I'll need some climbing to stave off madness, so if anyone knows if it's any good I'd appreciate some knowledge!

All the info I can find on the web is pretty patchy, so not sure if its really worth it for the climbing.

Rich

I spent a couple days climbing in the Tersanas cave. Lots to go at from mid 7s upwards to 8s. It's massive (makes Santa Linya look small) and maybe has seen development since I went (2015). 1h by car according to google with a 30-45min walk in.

There are a handful of good boulders on the East side of linmi Kouma Lake. The lake is a great swimming / hanging out on a pedalo sort of place and there are a bunch of good tavernas on the west side.
