Nice one chummer! You were no doubt one of the big boys I looked up to at the law courts. Rowley was worlds apart from everyone wasn't he!? Are you living in Liverpool?

As an aside does anyone have a copy of Alien Workshop's Photosynthesis? Particularly interested in the soundtrack.

17 years, holy fuck, it seemed so ahead of its time, the H-Street vids where ground breaking with Plan B carrying the torch after. Dannyway's part in the first H street vid, Shackle me not is also worth a watch, i think he's only about 15 in that and doing back to back mctwists, a sign of things to come.. you tube seem to have removed this clip though.

This was a gutter, Matt Hensley king of style with regard to street skating..

Got meself a new set up the other day whilst visitin a mate in the big smoke, first one in about 5 yrs, nearly 11years since I skated regularly, went to Cantolos , had a fuckin blast, 20 minutes in and the magic was still there! It felt soooo good to be on a board again. With N. Wales being shit for street skating I'm gonna learn how to skate mini again as there's one just down the road...bring it!

I skateboarded down Llanberis pass with Leo some time in the late 90s. I had a fairly new set up with decent bearings whilst Leos board was old with really knackered bearings (it was given to Leo by either Johnny or Jerry, Johnny prob more likely but I can't remember) In a move which was pretty comparable to our climbing styles we swapped skateboards so Leo could go faster and I would go slower. I think Mark Reeves drove down behind us. Pretty sure I used my feet to brake a bit, no idea about Leo - he disappeared off into the distance. Racing lines def needed to make it around some of the bends.

The original concrete transitions were so tight and aggressive they were almost unrideable. It seems like they promoted a super direct, aggressive style of skating that still exists today even though the park has gone through 40+ years of changes (all starting with a mere a accident, the council workers who built the first version having no idea what a skatepark was). I suppose the same thing happens in climbing communities, where a particular style gets perpetuated over time..
