Title: Running bootcamp with Vista
Post by: Adam Lincoln on December 20, 2007, 01:42:14 am
Hey guys, anyone got mac they use with bootcamp, running either Vista or XP. Preferably with Leopard? Wondered how clunky it was.... Being forced in the direction of mac for work possibilities, and if i do go that way will run vista on bootcamp.

Anyone any experience?

It will run fine, however why would you want to? Leopard (once the early bugs are ironed out) and XP SP2 is surely the best combo for the foreseeable future.

It's fine, but booting between the two systems is clunky and annoying. Plus, having to partition your disk in advance is a non-optimal solution.

Consider running VMWare Fusion or Parallels, which will allow you to run windows programs and mac ones side-by-side. Performance is about 50% slower than running in Bootcamp, so unless you are seriously number-crunching it shouldn't be an issue....
