Hi Guys
This is my first post so I would like to say hello....so....hello.
I had my first ever go at bouldering yesterday and enjoyed it and would like to get into it (I spent my day at work reading this forum). I have had quite a serious injury (the pic below) which has left me with the "claw" - the finger is now fused in the position in the picture (5 operations later) and it did hamper me in my first attempt though I was pretty rubbish all round.

I was just hoping to hear if anyone has had an experience of climbing with a fused and rather rubbish finger like mine and how they dealt with it - tips would be good. I would hate if this limits me before I even get started!
Thanks guys
Miller

Dude that looks nasty. hey you never know you may find it works to your advantage.

Tommy Caldwell sawed his own finger off -

And he seems to be doing alright i.e. various impressive feats on el cap and shagging Beth Rodden

Kevin Shield (http://adventure.visitscotland.com/news/kevin-shields/?from_page=1) seems to manage alright. So it's definitely possible.
Why would you saw your own finger off? :o
Edit: I see (http://www.camp4.com/news/index.php?newsid=242) he didn't do it on purpose.

Can't see the pic, and quite glad, sounds nasty. Dave Musgrove Snr seems to still climb well, in spite of missing a doigt or two.
nice thing is bouldering can be enjoyed at any level, and it's not all about having strong fingers. Just get out there and enjoy it.

Good news - I can't use it as an excuse only a challenge! Off to the wall I go!
and quite glad, sounds nasty
I pulled the ligaments in my shoulder too - that was having sex and that was really nasty - no pictures unfortunately!
Thanks guys
