Title: Climbing art
Post by: Oldmanmatt on September 08, 2021, 11:42:31 am
I just came across this artist/climbers work and “visual diaries” on Insta.
I think it’s excellent work and I’d rather have a good selection of her “Topos” , as posters, around my wall, than the generic NF/5:10/ A.N.Other brand posters we currently have.

I’m guessing there must be other, similar/connected climbing artists out there?

not really climbing as such, but a mate does amazing artwork for various things.

He's an L3 NDT so it fills his time between cups of tea an filling in forms when offshore:)

Commissions are well priced, did a great one for me.

I've really admired Conrad Jon Godly for a while. He seems to me rather like a modern mix of Caspar David Friedrich and Frank Auerbach, and he's probably in my top 3 would buy a proper piece of his art if I had £50,000 burning a hole in my pocket...

That's pretty striking and ominous looking, I like it.

Tessa Lyons obvs. Has done quite a bit with Vertebrate like Bullock's cover, I really like the crags on maps.

If I had a lot of money always fancied a Richard Long, then give it the treatment Bill Drummond describes in 45.

Wow this guy is amazing.

My dad accidentally painted a good picture of a crag the other day, or at least one i liked. Burbage. It probably won't happen again so not worth mentioning but i'll take a picture of it when i'm back there.

Good thread.
