So, Andy Owen just did a virtual ski tour on Twitter this weekend. I really enjoyed the sillyness of it.
Who's joining me for a virtual trip to Font?
We'll be meeting at The Broadfield and piling into cars tomorrow morning.
Can someone sort some accommodation out?
See you all tomorrow
-
I'll be pretending that Brexit and Covid never happened
-
Drivers so far - Ian Harrison is taking his Lotus. There's no way I'm getting in that. Jasper is taking his Golf, but he might not be up in time to catch the ferry.
Can DT90 and Cupboard take their 205 GTis ?
-
Hopefully Nibile will meet us there
-
The imaginary weather forecast is perfect.
We've got a whole week in Font and probably no rain.
I've got some day tickets for fishing on the canal in front of the palace if anyone fancies that on a rest day
-
I've got some beta
(https://i.ibb.co/4NXSXsJ/CIMG2835-2.jpg)
-
Fishing is tempting but in virtual font I reckon I'll be able to climb all day, every day as if it's the first morning.
Maybe an early morning session or two before climbing would work.
-
To answer the anonymous question from anonymous
Yes, you can bring anything you want. There will be no border or customs checks

Good points
-
I've got 35 free tickets for the carousel in town
-
Let me know when you get there - and I’ll join you for a coffee and pastry.
-
In the interests of safety, I'll be driving

I'm on the overnight ferry from Hull. Will be losing signal soon. Arriving zeebrugge at 7am, there'll be no traffic and all the speed cameras are broken so I'll be there before lunch.
Have had the maid do the shopping so fridge will be full and we can go straight to the crag.
-
Looks good for keeping the tan tip top, I assume Adam L is travelling with you, or did he just lend you his van?
-
My wife will be meeting me at Le Moulin Rouge in Paris on Wednesday evening. We've got tickets for the show.
I'm pretty sure we can get a few more tickets on the UKB promotion scheme
-
Hopefully Nibile will meet us there
Surely. Being at Le Castellet circuit to lay down some rubber of my Norton Domiracer, Font comes very handy. Call me two hours before you leave for ze rocks.

I'm in.

And it's not just a Golf, it's a GTI245 Performance. Which will be a lot of fun to drive on the French roads.
I have unfinished business at Isatis btw.
-
Me, footwork, dunnyg, 36C and fifteen pads in a Skoda Fabia hatch. Just on the A1, getting the ferry at 1am. Gonna do the Pregnant Horse Parabola to get around Paris, arrive at the campsite at 5am, and sleep in the car for an hour. Quick round of mini golf in the morning, then the patisserie, then we're going to burn off some Italian kid in bright trousers and slag each other off loads.
Psyched :punk:
-
Will, Jaz
Raaaghr!!!
We've got this!
-
Who wants moulin rouge tickets for Wednesday?
-

I can’t make the trip, can’t get out of work commitments. Can someone please bring back some various french pastries from the restaurant near Elephant please?

Look. We can sort you out with a supersonic helecopter pickup between work shifts. Then you can pick up your own pastries
-
Just arrived in Milly and I'm going Milly-middle for breakfast. Two pain aux amandes and a pain aux raisins. Anyone want owt fetching?
-
i've alrerady been training hard for this trip, ate an entire wheel of brie over the weekend. Can't wait to get suck into some proper French cheeses.
-
Just arrived in Milly and I'm going Milly-middle for breakfast. Two pain aux amandes and a pain aux raisins. Anyone want owt fetching?
A croissant jambon please
-
Wagons roll!
Although I am a slow driver, I expect this virtual journey to take very little time.
Let me know which crags you end up at.
I can pick up a couple of people on the way if anyone still needs transport.
Plenty of space for pads.
-
STOP! You left your mug of coffee on then roof...
Tunnel or ferry? If we go on the ferry can we sneak into the truckers ‘lounge’ for a fry up?
-
My skin is absolutely perfect and will remain so all week, despite climbing every single day.
-
Docked early and making time, just refueling at Aras. Will be with plaattsy by 11, get me a chocolat amande croissant, make sure it's the biggest one they've got.
-
Only one? Go on, have two, it's a holiday...
-
Do you want one with or without pistachio?
Or one of each?

-
Nipping to Carrefour for a coffee and PaC for breakfast plus baguette, Lemon Yop, saussicon, anchois piquant, some madeleines, some stinky cheese and a slab of tiny beers to get through the day. Anyone need anything else?
Probably stop in Decathlon for some chalk, expect to leave with a kite, a frisbee, some socks and a cheap fleece.
-
I've just been overtaken by a black Lamborghini Diablo with pads piled up on the passenger seat.
Who was that?
-
Sorry everyone, the Milly patisserie won't be able to supply any Paris-Brest for the rest of the day.
-
I'm sure I just saw Shark's car with a road bike mounted on the back
-
Do you want one with or without pistachio?
Or one of each?
Never had one with pistachio so yeah get me one of each.
Really shouldn't be texting at 180km/h
-
I must say, this is a well timed trip. I have genuinely been binging font videos the past half week as it's the only thing keeping my psyched at the moment. Glad I was able to make this trip.
We'll be at Isatis today. The plan is to head deep into the trees to check out some new things, but inevitably we'll spend 95% of the day around the first boulders next to the car park. I love it.
Come say hi, I'm the good looking one with the baguette.
-
I'm sure I just saw Shark's car with a road bike mounted on the back
"for a friend" obvs...
-
Holy shit I just flashed Misericorde! Lucky too as I've only got one mat. This is going to be a good trip...
-
I'm still waiting for Lagers to pick me up!

I'm on the way but am going to need a guide (person, not book) - I've had a total of five incredibly brief sessions in Font and have no idea where to begin! Who's up for it?
-
I'm just off to have a look at Rainbow Rocket, Andy. You're welcome to join.

I'm coming all the way to Font to do dynos!

I'm going straight to Rocher des Potets to do the yellow and the orange circuits without a break. Just to get myself used to moving again.

Well that's Chris out of action for most of the rest of today...
-
Just giving Footwork a masterclass on L'Angle Ben's at the moment.
He was complaining about his shoes being too baggy, yet I've now done it barefoot, in socks, in sandals, in his shoes, and in some 7 foot German guy's shoes (cheers Hans). Maybe Footwork had one too many Pelforths yesterday.
Anyway, I'm just nipping over to Karma now, but we've left a Paris-Brest on top of Ben's for Footer's to get when he eventually tops it, but if you're quick you might beat him to it :2thumbsup:

I'm just following andy_e's chalk up Misericorde, having been delighted last night to discover the Cuisiniere parking is open and bivying on my pads

Ta very much for the kind offer but, weirdly, Potala is one of the tiny handful of places I've been to. I think I'll join Lagers at Potets, where I will potter.

Sorry chaps, bit delayed - flew out in the end from Leeds Bradford, and it's taken a while sorting out picking up my rental:

If I don't send I'd give me a wide berth at the gite later. I'll probably be in a full "Ben Moon in One Summer" strop.
-
Class vehicle TTT, but you've chosen a harsh mistress in De Fil en Aiguille!

Anyway, I'll see how you're getting on later on my way round the full Cuisiniere Black circuit

Answer your phone, where's my pastry?
-
As luck would have it, we’re staying in a small place in The Marais for the week. We’re mainly here for the Nina Stemme/Stefan Vinke/Jonas Kaufmann Ring Cycle at the Opéra Bastille. Daniel Barenboim had to cancel but, amazingly, Bernard Haitink has agreed to come out of retirement to conduct. Travelling by Eurostar so no car but I can easily get the train from the Gare de Lyon out to Fontainebleau Avon or Thomery if someone can pick me up from one of those. The Dame Jouanne Mauve Circuit might be a bit of an ask as I need to be on the 2pm train for curtain up at 4pm. I’ll be happy anywhere with a yellow or orange circuit. I’ll bring the jetboil.

I'm on my way over Andy, but was delayed as the scooter needed an oil and the Cape and offwidth hat were still in the dryer.

Gonna get stuck into Red 25 at Sabots, it'll be a seige. Anyone joining me?

Always wanted a go in that, I'll come find you later on. Looks like it is staying cool all day, might be a bit of a breeze later.
-
Sounds good - have you got some of your saussicon, madeleines, and tiny beers left? Only had time for a pain au choc en route in the Peugeot.
-
yep, loads. Saving a few beers for post send celebration.

Found a beta vid too:

There's a little positive crimp to the left side of that slopey top. Also, put left foot up first

Excellent work on Le Grand K, Andy

Pas le genoux!
-
Plattsy, have you still got that list of problem names that include your name?
Are we going to get them ticked this week?
-
And are you going to get Etoile de Mer done when we are at Chats later in the week for a group send of Rubis?
-

Usually just use bleau.info and search 'plats'. Won't let me share the results.
It only returns the top 100 problems matching the search. Should be do-able
-
Well in a typical case of Courage Du Canon, having got nowhere near Fil En Aiguille, the moment Chris turned up with his camera I saw it off. I knew all I needed was an audience.
He's doing well, found the span lower down easier than I did but needs to bear down on the right hand bump...he's getting close though.
-

SO obvious now, thanks.
-
....and he's done it!
We're just cracking a small beer - santé!
-
Nice one boys. I'm just sat atop the ridge absorbing the ambiance having won my battle with Trois Hommes et un Coup Fin but might pop down in a minute if Chris still has any of those tiny red and white beers to spare.
-
We'll join you up there, and drink it all in. (UKB promotes drinking responsibly).
Any ideas for a meal tonight? Not been to Aux Saveurs Du Gatinais in Milly for while, but might need to book for a large table. Maybe save it for later in the week.
-
Had a top day at Isatis doing eliminates on Angle Ben's while Footwork got further and further from doing it.
Darkness is falling so I'm off to Bas Cuvier car park for more action.
-
Did anyone check La Pierre Philosophale? I fancy a flash tomorrow.
-
Starting to feel my age now ...
-
Last ditch effort on black 34 after Duma cruised it. On the way out nipped over to flash the downclimb of Karma. Piss.

Starting to feel my age now ...
It was your maturity that impressed me today. It's been a long time since someone had the sense to ignore my sandbagging beta

Barbecue is lit.
First food should be ready in an hour

Did anyone bump into Jasper today?
I briefly saw something on the French TV news with some CCTV footage of someone looking like him. People freaking out about the lack of a reflection or something.
-
If anyone's popping to Carrefour on the way back from the crag can you please pick me up a pack of Leffe Ruby (25cl), a can of confit de canard and some mergeuz please?

-
Haven't got tired all day, still going strong but just noticed it's got dark.
Any of that meat left after Palttsy's had his dustbin lid plate
-

Plenty to go round
I've been a bit distracted by the vegan thali platter that Andy Popp passed my way
-
Got a couple of bottles of sub-10 EUR red in the boot of the Peugeot I picked up on the way back. I'll get em opened.
-
....and he's done it!
We're just cracking a small beer - santé!
With a shower of such fine beta and encouragement how could I not.
-
Anyone seen Will this evening?
-
His car was still in the Bas Cuvier Car Park when I drove past. Looks like he's doing a suspension test or something.
-
Who's got the CBD gummies?
-
Who's got the CBD gummies?
I’ve got half a spliff left over. I’ll spark up the stove, get a brew on and bring it over. Heavy dew in the night - lovely sunrise!
-
I'm just walking back along the cobbled street from the patisserie, a warm paper bundle in my left hand and paper cup of espresso in my right. It's a crisp morning, there's mist hanging over the fields and the sun is just peeping over the horizon. It's going to be a good day.
-
Skin feels just right.
I've just touched my toes without needing to warm up.
Look at that sky!
I can't even remember what joint pain used to feel like.
-
Cheers lukeyboy, you got me an extra pain au choc didn't you?
Just getting the coffee machine on.
8 hours unbroken sleep, didn't even need to get up for a piss in the night. No hangover, no DOMS, skin still feeling great. Even the fucking lottery etc.
-
Now, where shall we go?
I fancy the blue circuit at Cul de Chien, followed by some frisbee on the sand.
The resole man is offering a UKB discount and 20 minute resole service today
-
Cheers lukeyboy, you got me an extra pain au choc didn't you?
Of course - there's a sack of assorted pastry on the kitchen table, dig in.
-
I can see another silver 205 GTi outside and can hear someone racing up the road on a motorbike

That sounds like a good start to the day. A baguette and stubby at lunch, then I'm off to Gorge aux Chats. I feel like it's the day to finally close my account on Rubis sur l'Ongle.
-

Not me. Mine's the dad wagon with incorrectly applied headlight adjuster stickers.
-
I'm going to pass on the spliff - that is all a long time in my past. But coffee sounds good!
-
Afraid I’ve got the bog roll if anyone else needs it... coffee and a morning smoke is having its effect..

Shout. Haven't been for years and was just thinking about the reds, memory has them as quite a friendly circuit.
Hopefully they'll be a good warm up then I'll give lukeyboy a wagon race and open my account on Rubis
-
Heavy dew in the night - lovely sunrise!
No rush going to be on the rocks until that dew burns off, and I need to clear my head after too many of those beers, I'm going for a run in the cool morning forest, easy 5k or so, anyone fancy it?
I'm up for Chats too, never been.
-
On the way out nipped over to flash the downclimb of Karma. Piss.
You do realise you have to reverse every move and not just drop off the top jug right? Back around.
-
Put your pads in when you're ready.
I'll be playing The Stone Roses first album on the way to the crag

I touched every hold on my de-send. ;D

Reckon I'll hitch a ride with Lagers in the luxo-bus to Chien, never given Tout etc a full go, assume with a sea of foam and some spotters I might be able to see it off.
You done with the WC yet Tom? Need to "get down to race weight" first.
-
I'll see you at Tout 3T and red 7bis is next door. Should be fun watching nai on that.
-

Had forgotten about 7bis...I have an open account on that one too.
Will bring the crossword with me and we can siege it between attempts.
Seems like Jas came back overnight BTW. Strange as it was after we'd locked up too. No signs of life from his room though.
-
Just got in. Quick croissant then off to Rocher du Mauvais Passage for Peter Pan. If that goes well I'm taking my diamond skin to La Super Prestat. Need to get through my Font Emotions tick list.

Just a reminder about the fastest drying 6A in the forest for anyone who wants to start early

For nostalgia's sake I need to get a hacky sack and a diablo for Cul de Chien. They probably sell them in Carrefour. Somewhere.

The roof with crimps? Sounds like my bag. Probably easier than the wide crack of No. 6 itself.

Nah, Carrefour would be good. Buy a pair of roller skates first to speed things up.
Oh and pick up a couple of lobsters and a bottle of fizz for lunch.

On it. Lobsters looked a bit manky, got best looking one and opted for a dozen langoustines as well.

We're approaching midday and we've nearly got Ben ready to leave the house. Is it still good connies out there?
-
Past primo but still good. Productive morning, but I might get the old string hammock up and have a post lunch doze in a sunny spot.

There's a place in Fontainebleau itself that does spaghetti carbonara on a pizza. Perfect way to recover/commit carbicide after a day on the blocs.

We're approaching midday and we've nearly got Ben ready to leave the house. Is it still good connies out there?
I've been out since 7am. Cuvier was blissfully quiet and I finally did Carnage. Off to the patisserie now; hit them at the right time in the afternoon and you'll get a fresh batch just out of the oven.
-

Sorry, there's no more. Upon reading this I accidentally razed it with my sledgehammer.
-
In this virtual font trip - can there be a global Zoom and TEAMs outage for 48 hours please?
Goes without saying. Patchy wi-fi / 4G in the forest anyway. Just enough to stream Netflix in the evening though.
-
Waiting for the dehydration to kick in so I can begin the great font burn off #2
This is Onde de Choc all over again.
-
Well after more of a siege than I'd hoped for I've seen off Tout Du Cul De Chien, this time round Chris led the way. Cheers to Nai and Plattsy for the pads and the encouragement.
We knocked off the cryptic too for good measure. Off to Sabots for a potter round the reds at the car park end, and a few obligatory throws at Jet Set.
-
You've done ALL of Cul de Chien? Good work. I've only done the Toit.
-
You've done ALL of Cul de Chien? Good work. I've only done the Toit.
Well there's no rush is there.
-
I've come off the mat and rolled my ankle, TBH I'll probably never mention it again so crack on without me.
-
I've been out since 7am. Cuvier was blissfully quiet
I went to Cuvier that early once. It was interesting. More middle age men in suits than usual.
-

Amen! Just had to go in search of WiFi so I could do my teaching.
-
Also, I now seem to be lost?

Perfect excuse to go for a random walk in the forest.

Haha, I've been at that sort of time on several occasions and the only other people I've seen were a class of children with teachers out for a geology trip or something.

you mean a randonee?

"not all those who wander are lost"

Don't let the missus see that one, she's a French teacher!
-
I fancy the blue circuit at Cul de Chien, followed by some frisbee on the sand.
Shout. Haven't been for years and was just thinking about the reds, memory has them as quite a friendly circuit.
Hopefully they'll be a good warm up then I'll give lukeyboy a wagon race and open my account on Rubis
Really chuffed to haul my way up Rubis, after a satisfying battle and another last go on thin skin. Cheers nai for the spot and nice one, you made it look far smoother than I did. Back to the gite for an early finish.
Count me in for that run tomorrow SA Chris.

Found a couple of alright looking ones at Rocher Saint-Germain, debating a jaunt out tomorrow if anyone's keen:

I've just spoken to the owner of Auberge Canard at Buthiers. He says that there are plenty of tables available for a late lunch tomorrow.
He also said that he has a garage full of 50cm thick gymnastic pads that we can use on the highball circuits there.
Anyone else coming there with me tomorrow?
-
Found a couple of alright looking ones at Rocher Saint-Germain, debating a jaunt out tomorrow if anyone's keen:
Consistently been the best place for getting completely lost without finding the boulders that I've been to. Unlikley to have that sort of misfortune in Vfont though I guess.
EDIT: Buthiers sounds good though, team and paddage might prevent the backing-off issues I've had there previously.

I'm up for it, will you pick up the "bouche de canard" for lunch?
-
And what's that arete there that looks OK? Partridge? Partisan? Suppose we could nip up that if there's time.

Partage? Yeah why not.

While we are in V Land, everyone in the trip syndicate get a ticket for the £180m Euromillions, we'll split it when we win.

Just think. We arrive in the Forest in our Fabias and Jazzs; we all leave driving a 93 plate BMW M5. Back to our jobs beating the shit out of a piece of glowing metal in Sheffield.
-

Amusingly, for the first time ever that was a Will Hunt UPgrade - Ben's car in Real Thing is an M3.

This is like that time some guy got the name of that roof wrong ;)
-
Touché.
But yes - when the big payday comes, it's one of them more me, a beige Renault 4 and an HF Turbo for the full Real Thing tick.
-
My battery is flat. Can someone come and give me a jump start please?

How can that happen in vfont?

Will's on his way, said he had to pop out for something anyway
-
Man, these pizzas are good
-
Who knew that 3T was so good on the guitar?
After finishing all this cheese, I'm expecting some Kurt Albert style one arm pullup dreams tonight.
I'm going to take advantage of being child free for the week and have my first proper lie in for years.
-
The noisy Germans in the tent next door have packed up and gone to bed after I asked them nicely 😇
-
That was probably will and footwork making aquaintances with old friends!
-

I'm hoping you picked up one of them massive Pain Au Chocs for me? Need something as dessert to go with the cold pizza.
No way am I going for a run. Need to get a coffee down me and assess the options for today. After two days of projecting a day of pottering might be in order.
-
How's everybody's Font Elbow doing this morning?
Wee bit tweaky, but foam roller and stretching is doing it some good.
-
'morning all!
This evening's first round of beers is on me. While I was walking back to ze bike at dawn, after doing La Pierre Philosophale, Ignacio Etxavarria, the Basque guy who made the video, and who happens to be an undercover former olympic weighlifting gold medalist, made me know that the olympic plates' diameter is 450 mm. That means that in all these years I've been pulling with a 25 mm deficit.
YYFY.
I like the smell of iron in the morning.
-
The fishing's been great this morning. As has the wildlife around. And that sunrise, wow, snooze you lose.
One last cast then I'll pack up, grab some breakfast in town and meet you all at Buthiers later. Gonna be a good day.
-
I've laid a towel down under Attention Chef to keep those noisy Germans away from it.
-
Back with breakfast. Enjoy. 3T - wasnt sure what you wanted so got a selection.
Didn't have my French corrected and got a wink from the woman behind the counter too!
-
I think you're in there. What happens in font stays in font.
-
I've laid a towel down under Attention Chef to keep those noisy Germans away from it.
Dammit I was considering an easy circuit somewhere!
That said...height dependant crux, popular Font 7a on everyone's videos - this is a very poorly-disguised setup for the inevitable "it's 6b at best" downgrade, right?
And as for Font elbow, I think it's 36C's knuckles I need a sitrep on...
-
This settled cool weather is an absolute treat.
Thanks for the Madeleine tomtom, took me right back.
-
Help! Still on randonee ... battery about to die ... I may be some time.
-
Maybe some of those who wander are actually lost.
-
Morning jog round the blue randonee starting at Dame Jouanne. Checked in on Sanseveria and Rababoum.
Fuelled by a pain aux amandes from Larchant and refuelled after with another.
En route to Buthiers with another pain aux for elevenses.
-
House of pain
-
Stopped off on the way to look for Andy. By the looks of the beard he's been wandering the woods for four, maybe five, months. Spiriting him away to Buthiers now, whether he likes it or not.
-
I enjoyed my lie in.
Thanks for the pastries and the coffee whoever left them on the table.
Off to Buthiers Canard now.
I've got a few frisbees for the frisbee golf course on the plateau above the crag.
I hope those extra pads will help reduce the fear I experienced last time I went to Canard...

For sure, and while we're there La Baleine at Petit Bois would be good for the Sea of Foam treatment
-
Where is everyone? I’m just back from a very leisurely 5 course lunch....
Burp.
-
still bottling the top of Lady Big Claque, even with all these pads and spotters
-
I suggest a rest day tomorrow. Let's bust out the booze and get messed tonight.
-
I know this current trip has barely started, but I've already drawn up goals for Font 2022 and the training psyche is sky high. Cheers guys :strongbench:
-
I've managed to get hold of one of those 5G tracking chips that come with the Covid vaccine. If we find Andy Popp again, we can put one in him to prevent losing him again
-
I suggest a rest day tomorrow. Let's bust out the booze and get messed tonight.
I'm meeting my wife in Paris tonight to see a show at Le Moulin Rouge. Got a few tickets spare if anyone else fancies it.
-
Tomtom is doing well on the scary black circuit considering how much he ate at lunch
-

Keep up. Andy was found and has spent the day giving demonstrations of Attention Chef whilst wearing his Vans.
-
I discovered that that ratty fingerlock thing on Attention Chef was beyond me so have sacked it off in favour of a rest day / blowout tonight.
Will swing by Carrefour and pick up plenty of cheese, foie gras and red wine as I can fit in the Peugeot. Will see if I can get a deal on a job lot of steak. Whole roasted celeriac for the veggies. Will cobble together chocolate mousse for dessert as well.
-

The calvados helped.
-
French bon courage
-
Whole roasted celeriac for the veggies.
Just made a pan of celeriac soup (actually), coming over with it now,
-
We'll see you Friday
-
My skin is trashed, but what a cracking day. Pleased to manage Attention Chef, enjoyed trying to pull onto Appartenance but it was a bit too much to ask after all that brie at lunch. Picking up some cold Leffe on the way home, any takers?
-

Couple of bottles of Cidre please - as Brut as you can get. Will go nicely with Andy’s soup.
-
Are Will at Footwork eating with us tonight, or are they off doing another suspension test at Bas Cuvier?
Just need to know whether to bother getting them a steak.
-
I'm up for couple of Leffes lukeyboy, and some bleu steaks, nom.

We're dining in tonight. Still nursing the sore elbows from the last trip to Bas Cuvier. I'll be up early to make crepes in the morning.

Thanks - but I’m sorted. Was chatting to an old fella outside the tabac - and he let me have a bottle of his families. Suitably dusty and cobweb covered.
-
make crepes in the morning.
I usually do that just after a strong coffee
-
slight moment of panic while we were going in to Le Moulin Rouge - I didn't have a mask with me - Mrs reminded me that there is no Covid in VFont
-
Anyone fancy a trip to that place at Apremont where they do huge plates of frites?
-
Think after last night's steak and Chateauneuf De Pâpe extravaganza I'll be keen. Definitely a rest day for me today - think a wander round Apremort, big plate of frites and a medicinal 33 at the bar on the corner in Barbizon might be in order.
-
I’m back at the boulangerie trying to catch the eye of the angry looking dark haired lady who works there ;)
Any late orders? I’m going to get some flute for lunch later - if someone else can get the cheese?
-
Pain complet for me please. I'll take care of cheeses. Compte, Bleu Bresse, brie, anything else?
-
Pain Au Choc and a Croissant for me cheers, maybe a Pain Au Raisin for later...
-
Pain complet for me please. I'll take care of cheeses. Compte, Bleu Bresse, brie, anything else?
Some St Pauline please.

Anyone who didn't overindulgence last night fancy Hotline (https://bleau.info/cretenord/1436.html)? Would be nice to have a sea of foam...

Happy to shoot over Duma - looking at it, I'll give you a spot while I clear my head, and then this might be suitable target for me in my hazy state:

Just busting out a set of one armers on the portable fingerboard. Trying the 'lock off -pain au raisin' challenge...
-
I'm driving back from Paris.
I'm going to stop off at Carrefour and get lunch from the sushi counter.
Anyone want anything while I'm there?
I'm heading to Apremont for a few classics. Looking forward to seeing Mr Popp do Science Friction in his worn out Vans
-
I know we're a distance from the sea - but I've not had any Moule Frites yet... anyone fancy some later?
-
I was just thinking that TT. Moules marinieres, magnifique.
-
I'll pass. Unless it's pastry, dairy, something's flesh or formerly grapes I'm not interested. When in Rome...
-
Not even flesh of a mussel?
-
I know we're a distance from the sea - but I've not had any Moule Frites yet... anyone fancy some later?

Actually - thinking I'm gonna get on a VPN and stay in and watch the cricket for a bit. Afternoon OK for everyone?

Amazing. Is this our last full day? Big push if so.
Debating trip to Elephant so Lagers can hustle me on La Voie Michaud.
-
I'm staying for another two months.
-
Let’s all have a final morning by L’Elephant. I’ve heard it’s been deserted there most days.
Anyway - who was the new camper (arrived last night) who was having a slideshow for one on the inside of their tent? ;) looked good. Especially shot of what looked like Brian Blessed doing a henna tattoo around a woman’s belly button...
-

After that hero session at Canard the other day, I'm ready for the black circuit at Elephant with just a beer towel and a door mat for protection.
I'm lending my pads to Mullet24k.
I've arranged for the police to clear the area of slackliners, so Elephant will be nice and quiet.

Thought you fancied Rababoom? And I'd mentioned La Balaine.
Should take advantage of this team and padding, don't need that for LVM
All down that way so we could tie it all in together I guess
Unfinished business with La Balaine, didn't do it from this point. Many Times:

No idea, but a short bloke in a beige Renault 4 has just picked him up. They were saying something about Valley De La Mei...
-
I'm up for Rababoum nai, and will spot you on La Baleine if you'll return the favour on Big Jim. If that goes well we might have time for a look at Énergie Renouvelable (https://bleau.info/greau/13391.html) just down the road before meeting the others at Elephant.

Brilliant. I love Petit Bois.
Thanks for clearing Elephant lagers, you must have some good contacts in the gendarmerie. I'd like to eventually finish off Le Coeur, and also that 7a-ish slopey off vertical arete thing (?)
Edit: I think it's called Le Bouton (https://bleau.info/elephant/7854.htmlp)
-
God, Big Jim. I have some serious unfinished business there. Will deffo be availing myself of the sea of foam!
-
Uncle and I have just landed. He's grown the mullet back....
-
Nice! Got some Malt of the Earth for us tonight I assume Tom?
-
If you haven't you'd better swing by Carrefour and see what they have.
-
Woke up this morning and it was one of those perfect, crisp, cold days dans la foret. Early morning and the wisps of mist still hung over the fields. The birds were singing in the trees, the air was clean and clear and the sky was blue. The sandstone was perfect beneath my fingertips, cold and smooth, yet hard, grippy and coarse, begging to be climbed. It was going to be a good day.

Hell yeah. Send train has been running at Petit Bois and Manoury. Next stop Greau, calling at Elephant and terminating at La Tête.

Set off a bi late Chris but I'll be there by apres. Don't track it all out before I get there!
-
Well I certainly shan't be wasting any of my FONT trip on nonsense like the alps. Think I'll head over to Gorges du Houx for L'Inaccessible Absolu (https://bleau.info/houx/545.html), then the stuff on the lune bloc next door.
-
I may be having a small brandy with my cafe this morning. Lovely sat outside in the warm sun... tables still damp with a little dew. Watching the market get set up.

With all this perfect weather and unlimited skin, I have a nice feeling of contentment about my climbing this week.
I will be going home satisfied that I have achieved everything that I hoped for.

Why would you even go home?

We've only been here five days. I'm staying.

Lamp session on the Jiu Jitsu boulder at Apremont tonight?

Anyone still around? Been another scorcher, fell asleep in the warm sun after lunch and just woken up to a cool evening, feels like crush o'clock.
-
Of course I'll join you
-
I’m firing up a large (half oil drum style) BBQ - as I scored some mega looking large langoustine at the market. All welcome to join. Should be good to go in an hour.

Think this will have to be my last supper - skin finally giving out after a magic week. Thanks all, its been a blast.

I'm inclined to leave the virtual Font trip permanently open so that we can dip in and out as we need.
I was concerned that it might become a cocktail of Hotel California and Land of Toys, but on reflection I am confident that it can become a pint of Good Hope served with a bag of Mr Porky's traditional nostalgia in The Sheaf View

If it's kicking out time at the gite then I'm going native, to live forever as a man of the Forest.
