I had looked at the Ben Nevis forcast this morning and comented to a Colleague, No one would be out on the mountain today. 100mph wind forcast and avalanche risk at high.
Tragicaly both myself and the climb leader appear to have got it wrong today. Number 5 gully is a avalanche blackspot. RIP. That is seven souls lost in the area this winter.

One rescued died in hospital :(
One of our students was up there this weekend and was saying they glad they didn’t actually get out and try anything...
I’ve been in a Scottish winter incident with helicopters etc... and thankfully everyone got out fine. My thoughts with those who’ve been less fortunate this year.
