I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not really that interested in indoor climbing.
I understand the overlords want traffic for their new site, but is there anything I can do to make the recent UKB posts appear above the recent GBIC ones?
-
Pretty sure I'm not seeing them, and never have. Check your profile?
-
:-\ Can't find anything that effects it. Anyone else got it as the top-right menu on this page (http://ukbouldering.com/board/index.php)? It's only appeared in the last week for me.
-
Yes its there, but can be minimised with the minus sign. Never use that menu anyway, I just click on 'Unread posts...' under Welcome Johnny Brown top left.

Normally I would agree with you but in the last couple of days there's been some decent fingerboarding info on the GBIC site posted by none other than Mr Beastmaker himself so might be worth keeping an eye on GBIC for the training side of things even if you're not that interested in indoor climbing in general.
Props to the overlords for setting it up.

I thought the training week from Luke Tilley was interesting too.

Me too although it'd be better if Tom could expand on his followup (IMO at least).

Toms's presentation on periodisation (http://gbindoorclimbing.com/index.php/topic,27.0.html) at the BMC Coaching Symposium should give it more context especially if read in conjunction with Dave Binney's presentation on training principles (http://ukbouldering.com/media/pdf/principlestraining.pdf).
These are both originally linked from the GBIC site along with other presentations (http://gbindoorclimbing.com/index.php/topic,27.0.html) from the Symposium.
-
I quite like the link, though if it just had updated topics, not the latest postings it would be simpler on the brain to scan and acknoledge/reject.

Maybe i'll just stick with the original answer (where's the head spinning smiley? :???: ), although it does allow for some insight into the Littlefairs of this world.

Aren't these one and the same, in so much as an updated topic will contain a new post(s) (counting a new topic as an update to a new thread that is). Or is it that you don't need to know there have been say five posts to a given thread?
-
Yeah, I don't need to know there have been 5 postings or what have you..
-
under Welcome Johnny Brown top left.
I can't see where it says "Welcome Johnny Brown" on the home page anywhere?
-
He means "Hello Your Username", not "Welcome..."
As has been said, the "RecentGBIC posts" column can be collapsed using the minus sign. Once this has been done, the setting should be remembered next time you login/visit the portal home page.
You'll still get the collapsed heading but not the list of posts.

I know, poor attempt at humour!
