All due respect to Shark, who has already reported this in RIP, but I believe Trev deserves a separate thread. From all reports, Trevor "Carlos" Hodgson, merry prankster and hardcore slatehead of the 80s Beris scene, died peacefully this afternoon.

Sad news. I knew him to chat to BITD and we got him as guest speaker at a uni dinner. Remember one of his stories about soloing on slate. He used to solo listening to music on a Walkman. Can’t remember which one but he was soloing an E5 and then disaster struck - the tape ran out!. He said turning the tape over was the crux.

80s Beris stalwart. Sad news.
-
I didn't know or meet him but I was inspired by the photos of him in the Paul Williams Llanberis guide when I first started climbing.
-
I knew him through Beris in the 80s and 90s, full on and larger than life, proper climbing character. Some of the tales oh my!!!
Rest in peace

Forgot about the footless crow blog, that was half an hour of time well spent. Great writing

Tried to post that yesterday but couldn’t find the thread. So thanks shark. Great read. Wonderful writing.

Just spotted that he'd logged a few of his exploits from back in the day on UKC https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/showlog.php?id=107377
Frightening stuff!
