To reset or not?
-
PS - any karma votes since the update will be kept...
-
Still a dead heat... :bounce:
-
Well that's a no then.
-
I've been impressed with the way the karma system is being used now and I think the old stats are reflecting something that no longer has any meaning.
Would anyone *really* mind if I reset the stats but applied all the changes since the update?
-
I'd like it to be reset

No, please do it.
Anyone who is really concerned about keeping the old stats is either feeding their ego too much or caring too much about putting others down.
-
Ok, I've reset the stats and also have allowed users to give a karma vote every 15 mins.
-
Word.
Where do the reasons get stored, out of interest?
-
In the database.
-
Uhuh. And who gets to read them??
-
Anyone: http://ukbouldering.com/board/index.php?action=viewkarma
Not sure guests can read them but there's a link from the front page...
-
Gosh. I don't know whether that calms things down or incites more online violence ???
-
I like the way it's working so far - people are showing appreciation but not holding back when somebody steps out of line.
-
Has it been reset then?
-
Yeah, check Andi's karma now!

Seems to be working aye. And there seems to be a fair bit of good karma towards people who aren't such regular posters, showing that the forum is not a clique and if you post well you'll get treated well whoever you are.
