Title: Numb finger tip after sharp hold
Post by: bigdrew on July 21, 2015, 03:54:43 pm
Bit of a funny (and slightly worrying) finger injury..

On Sunday I ended up pulling quite hard on a hold that pressed into the side of my index finger quite painfully. (I was on the hold for maybe 30 seconds putting a wire in)

I've still got a strange numb spot on the side of my finger and round onto the tip. Anyone had this before - How long did it take to go away and can I get away with climbing on it?

Andy.

I had this a few weeks ago, as it happens on the side of my index finger as well. It was from pinching a sharp hold between thumb and side of index finger. I didn't worry too much about it and it went away after a few days.

Not uncommon. I and others have done the same on the starting hold of La Ligne Blanche in Font. Numb for days afterwards. Nowt to worry about.

Thanks all,

No sign of improvements yet but hopefully it will go away before too long :)

Use it to your advantage, get on something sharp and nasty and you won't be able to feel the pain!
