We have messed around with the site's menus and standalone portal pages. The idea is to tie in the wiki, flickr, vimeo and twitter stuff more clearly. All still in the Web 0.9 DireHTML™ style we know you all love. Shout if there are any serious bugs.

Howsabout when clicking on "ukb on vimeo" or the suchlike it automatically opens it up in a new tab? Is that possible?
-
It's certainly possible but it's one of those sticky usability dilemmas.
- Should the link automatically open a new tab/window even though it looks like a normal link?
- Or should it just open in the current tab/window and rely upon the user to control the target?
My personal preference is for the latter, i.e. links should open in the same window unless you direct them otherwise via a middle-click, ctrl-click or whatever.
Be interesting to see everyone's opinions on this...

Internal to the website, I agree, it should open up in the same tab, but if it navigates away from ukb.com then I think it should open up in a new tab, much like clicking a link such as this http://www.google.co.uk (http://www.google.co.uk) does.

Configure the forum links to work as you want, users can learn to change their behaviour and right-click to bring up a menu and select "Open in New Tab" or middle-click to open in new tab (common default behaviour, but customisable).
