i'm not surprised, given the shit they've been packing for a while now.
so we can lookforward to more photos of the gresh in shades, photos of mountains from a distace with redlines drawn up the sides, and more B-grade articles by laughing-boy sharples?.
i'd like to see it work, but i'm not reaching for my wallet just yet.

On The Mountain Edge?
-
so basically its gonna be the same old OTE but with a load of shite about mountains and glacial treks thrown in for good measure. Great
-
Quote 'the new magazine will combine the best of each magazine '
That will be one thin mag :tumble:
-
i 'won' a subscrition to high and i have to say its rare it gets me through an entire shit. i normally have to pad said bowel passage out with bowldro gogledd cymru, or a back issue of OTE (from when it was half decent).
i aprticulalry like the el nino issue where patch and leo dick on the hubers :8)

On The Mountain Edge?
"Mountain High the Edge On" is quite snappy I think.
-
how about "On the shelf"
-

christ, that must be a tight squeeze, even for you cofe
-
just glad my subscription to ote has finally ran out

I bought OTE last week for the first time in ages. Needless to say the money would have been better spent on drugs.
-
So its now a combination of 3 magazines; wasnt Mountain Review absorbed by High, which resulted in the dull red lines on Mountains bit already mentioned? I only buy them if thers a couple of interesting articles and I need something to read these days ie not often. At a push I normally go for Climber anyway.
-
i don't buy climber on principle.....
...the principle that its shit. Obviously pantontino's flava is the best thing in there, but i don't want to read advertorials for mapcases or gaiters, or read about the latest second rate retro-bolted sportcrag in the south west or something like that. i've just never seen a copy that makes me wanna shell out £3.

Mountain Review (which was a class mag for anyone liking the big hills - got my copies safely tucked away somewhere) was apparently incorporated into OTE - as in they did a couple of 'mountain based' articles for a few months and then promptly forgot about it.
Mountain Info - the red lines thingy - has been in High for as long as i can remember and was picked up from the demise of ' Mountain' magazine (or whatever that mag that old people remember was called - i'm too young to know such shit)
History lesson over.........

agree with u on climber dave its very poor. the bouldering scenes good but sadly not worth three quid. the training articles r stupidly simple, boring and not in depth enough. plus most of it can be found for free on the internet. i can honestly say that i've never read a feature length article in climber that has interested me.
ote was really good this month i thought but as a rule of thumb its varied at best and a pile of piss at worst.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. I have thought OTE has been shite for ages, and to be honest I think Climber is much better. At least it has good piccies.
