My hiking boots are nearly 15 years old. Terrex ones are apparently very good.

I work for Bergfreunde and handled the warranties for 4 years. Avoid Terrex like the plague. Same with Salomon.

Scarpa (wideish), Sportiva (medium-narrow), Hanwag (wide), Lowa (wide) would be primary choices for good lifetime and resolability. Salewa (medium-narrow) also ok.
