What's the score with camping in the Pass? Is it still OK with a little discretion?
-
There were three small tents pitched on the Mot side of the river by the Cromlech Boulders all day Sunday, presuming they'd been there overnight and were planning on staying the next night too.
No idea if they should or shouldn't have been there.
-
yep still see folk camping by the river, usual crazy lady asking for cash at the boulders but there's been a spate of car vandalism over night, there was something about it on the other channel
-
Thanks Chummer, the vandalism seems quite persistent and recent. Alternatively, how early does all the Pass car-parking fill-up (I'm think of this weekend)? At times like this I wish I has CC membership.
-
I believe there are a few well used discrete spots but "The Crone" is said to still be very much on the prowl!

Spaces were fading fast by about 9.30 last weekend.

There was also a camping field opposite Carred Wastad next to the cc with a toilet and you could leave your car there too. It's a few years since I stayed there but it was a good spot.
-
That seems too good to be true? Isn't it just the CC's? Think I might just camp in Capel and drive round really early.
Did you get home OK Ben?

I think I stayed here with my mate Phil in 2005 to do some trad for the week but afaik, the land & house got bought (around 2008/9?) and the new owners closed access past the small bridge so people can no longer park or camp here.
-
Yes thanks Andy... it was late but better than not at all.
Richie yes that's the place. Shame it's closed now it was a good spot.
-
Wasn't it bought by the Climbers Club? :ras:
Was always where I used to stay in the Pass, brilliant spot, only a pound a person.

Hi Andy hope you had a good trip.
Some friends used to spend the summer living in the quarry huts above nant peris (through the tunnel through the incline by Twll Mawr and follow the level out). the huts are still sound and there's a stream near by. Its also enough off the beaten track to avoid hassle (can park near nant peris)
