Title: Nick's New Nescliffe Nine - Nails!
Post by: Will Hunt on July 28, 2009, 12:51:24 pm
Apparently Nick Dixon's climbed a new route at Nesscliffe. A Thousand Setting Suns has been proposed at E9 7a.

But Will...

Pictures or it didn't happen.

 ;)

(and for anyone who's not reading between the lines, I'm not denigrating the reported ascent, but taking the piss out of Will, so don't even bother having a go)

There's a picture on the blog. Is there some resource for learning how to put pictures on other websites in posts?

I've just checked and you've only told me not to exaggerate 739456 times  ;D

* Must remember to turn my sense of humor back on when posting to UKB from work *

Anyway, props to Nick for putting up what sounds like a rather nails route (picture below is linked to blog post btw).

Good stuff. Saw him working this when I was getting scared on the E3 to the right of it (Nick later informed me that the bolts on the E3 "don't go in very far" and "someone came off the top, we were amazed the bolts held"). There was mutterings about English 7b at the time which looked quite believable - there's nae grips in the middle bit! A good effort, Nesscliffe keeps on giving...

A new top toolbar is planned for when SMF release their next version.

I see Dave Birkett has repeated this route, saying he "can see why it gets E9" or something like that.

Yup, UKC dropped a bombshell when they said that:

you have to pull hard with the fingers and push hard with the feet

:jaw:  This is obviously why I haven't climbed E9 yet. Glad I know what to do now.

I read that article and I saw that cock head doesn't know the difference between write off and right off, but then again I'm far from suprised.
