Nice picture Guy!

Great effort Stu. Given how plagued you've been with injury over the years it's good to see the training paying off and you getting this done. Also, given it's in the UK, I feel you've burned off Barrows.

Thats exactly what I was thinking: this is more inspiring than Bens ascent because he's like, Ben Moon. Stu is one of us.

A good one obviously.

:off: No biggie but the George Best quote is actually

'I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered'

Another one is

'I'd have to be superman to do some of the things I'm supposed to have done, I've been at six different places at six different times'.  :)

A quote that always raises a chuckle... and then you remember that he died as a result of alcoholism, and had two failed marriages and was (an admitted) wife-beater.  If he'd caused any traffic accidents I think we would have a contender for most cautionary quotation ever.

You have a 'friendly' rivalry with Alex Barrows - how did this start? I believe you made a 'Climbers Against Barrows' tshirt! How does it feel to finally have climbed as hard as Barrows? What's your next goal to one-up him?
I do have a climbers against barrows t-shirt. I got it printed when he climbed Malcom Smith's epic boulder traverse Pilgrimage by finding about twenty knee-bar rests along it. It's important to take a stand against climbers like Alex - weak people shouldn't be able to climb hard, and no amount of knee-bars should change that.
To be honest, I don't feel like I've climbed as hard as Alex. I feel like I've climbed harder. I just don't think routes in Spain should count. We've all heard the rumours...

Some food for thought, and possibly disbelief. Was chatting this morning and it seems like stu could be the heaviest guy to climb rainshadow! His nearest rival Ondra, don't ever want to put that in a sentence again  :ras: was just a boy at the time! Nike air was about 9 stone, Ben possibly 9 1/2 if it was raining, and ste was obviously about 7 stone. Stu can't be the heaviest guy to do anything, he just can't!
Title: Re: Stu Littlefair climbs Rainshadow

Ben would have weighed more for sure. I was 58kg.

I bloody said you were 9 stone! The other guy said you were heavier than you looked and weighed 67kg!!! I pointed out they'd lost the plot but they beat me down in a war of attrition! I thought it was a strange world were you where the heaviest! They'll be telling me you're 6ft tomorrow
