Title: Bouldering in/near Alston, Cumbria??

I was driving home from Newcastle today and decided to take the scenic route home over Hartside Pass. Anyhow, I was drving through Alston and was surprised to pass two chaps with bouldering mats on their backs walking up the road.

I wasn't aware there was any bouldering around this area, so was wondering if anyone knew where they could have been headed?

Greg or TC, can you put any light on the subject?

Isn't Cowrake Quarry on the Alston road? Other than that I'm not sure.
