Title: Millers Dale car parking enforcement
Post by: shark on April 20, 2019, 09:33:11 am
Word is that car parking is being enforced by the Peak District National Park Authority (PDNPA) at Millers Dale car park with several cars ticketed yesterday.

Stanage Plantation likely to be subject to enforcement in the future. Car parking is a contentious subject but PDNPA has suffered from major govt funding cuts.

Worth considering their £40 annual pass (http://www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/visiting/parking)

There is parking in a small lay by 5 mins walk up the road from the main car park too. If you can stomach the extra walk in time.

AFAIK the enforcement is done by a sub-contractor who will be visiting all their sites. A few weeks back I was told the enforcement at Stanage was imminent but would include a 'soft-launch' of warning tickets.

The ice cream at the new cafe is good, but not as good as Thorpe Farm's.
