Title: hamstring twang
Post by: iwasmexican on December 05, 2012, 11:32:03 am
so this happened a few months ago now in albarracin.  on this problem el succionador you have to put a heel way out high on the left on a bad slopey nubbin and pull really hard with it to rock over and reach/ press up. when i did it though something went in my left hamstring; all i can describe it as is it "twanged", not really pulled or strained or anything. since i ve tried to be careful with it, and tried some stretching (which seems to make it worse...), but it still hurts to pull with my heel, and also with moves that require really toe-ing down on steep stuff.

anyone got any experience/ recovery advice?

GP first. Complain. Make it sound worse than it is. Say that it impacts on your work. Be vague about where the pain is. This will hopefully make them refer you to a physio. Worked for me. I think there's already a thread about this somewhere.
