Title: Wanted: XL waterproof jacket
Post by: James Malloch on December 30, 2023, 02:17:47 pm
Before i start searching on vinted, does anyone have a waterproof in size XL that they would sell?

After taking our new baby out in the sling today and getting caught in the rain, i think getting a jacket that can cover us both would be sensible  :chair:

At least she’ll be hardy if i don’t find one - coped fine with a damp head today…

I'm all for Vinted but I was out doing some emergency roof repairs this week in a Decathlon waterproof I bought in 2007 for £25. They're always worth a look.

Trouble with buying waterproofs second hand is they might not still be waterproof. Factor in price of a bottle each of Nikwax cleaner and waterproofer to get it in good condition, before "saving" for one that is cheaper than a Decathlon one.

A quality umbrella is a much underrated tool, will be useful beyond your use of the sling, and is a must-have for any country squire.

We used something similar to this (I think it was called a "zip us in") with our normal coats, it worked really well.

Also congratulations!
