I have a Canon IXUS 100IS compact, which shoots HD video, but my current Class 2 memory cards can't handle it and seem to get overwhelmed after about 20 seconds. Does anyone know if Class 4 SD cards would be fast enough to handle it, or would I need Class 6 or 10? I can't seem to find the answer by googling.
Cheers.

Recording will automatically stop when either the clip file size reaches 4 GB or the recording time reaches approximately 29 minutes and 59 seconds in 1280 mode, 1 hour in 640 and 320 modes. Recording may stop even if the maximum clip length has not been reached on some memory cards. SD Speed Class 4 or higher memory cards are recommended
Manual for Ixus100is says Class 4 is fine, but I'd get fast as possible, Class 6 shouldn't cost much more.
For info compatible with these cards: SD memory card, SDHC memory card,
MultiMediaCard, MMCplus memory card, HC
MMCplus memory card
