Are these any good Serpico? Do you own one? I've seen a Manfrotto (http://www.markertek.co.uk/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=MAN-585) one and was wondering how this compares to that? I'm in the market for a camcorder stabiliser and this looks really impressive, have watched the demo videos and they look very effective. I had been toying with the idea of making my own (http://lifehacker.com/5272748/build-a-14-video-camera-stabilizer), but not sure if I can be arsed..

Just found a review comparing the 2 products (http://www.amazon.com/review/R2OOKVV08HANE3), the Hague wins hands down - check the comparison footage..

Post by: tomtom on February 24, 2010, 07:09:31 pm: On the Gadget show the other day (I wish I didnt have re-occuring nightmares featuring the short bald wanker) they had sompe make your own pop video challenge etc... anyway - said Short bald twat had a neat thing for holding a vidcamera that looked a bit like those old flash mounts for slr's - a metal bracket that screws into the tripod hole and a hand grip on either end. The logic was that because your hands were further apart when holding the camera there was much less shake/more steady etc.. seemd to work really well and was dead simple.
I'm sure someone much more technically minded than me could describe that better!

No need to Tom - I saw it too (can't get enough of baldy :))

This (http://www.b-hague.co.uk/canon_eos_5d_mark_ii_lumix_gh1_camera_support.htm) (top one) was what he was using, again from Hague just not quite as good as their 'floating' steadicam setup.

Which is exactly how the 'FigRig' (http://services.manfrotto.com/figrig/)works, nothing clever, just a 'steering wheel' but hence why it's easy to make you own. Real ones are super pricey. £200!
