I have read somwhere of a boulder field on the island - anyone been to this? Pictures or reports appreciated - family holiday, maybe moving here!
-
nothing, there is a small area in the parque holandes, not really worth it mind. You can always go get the ferry to lanzarote, amazing bouldering there, I wrote a guide for all the areas many moons ago but never god round to publishing it as we thought best not to move over there in the end, I have it on a quark file, but no longer use quark, you are more than welcome to have it just print it out as a pdf
You can also send the guys at www.topatras.org an email, they speak good english and very friendly, They run the gran canaria web site but no all the climbing on the other islands
good luck

Incorrect, I will find out how to post photos this week, there is a fantastic area, ask falling down for a google earth map via PM.
Parque Hollandes? what is the name of the nearest town?
-
Cheers guys. Sounds like a big move, but sun and chilling call. I will pm you both my email - any stuff/photo's you have will be much appreciated. I'm probably just gonna train at home, and get out when the opportunity rises (no change there then!). Anymore info, keep it coming. My plan is in its early days, but looking to go beginning of August.

Its perfect patina granite too!

Just to the left there was a wall, reminicent to Planet X, at J tree. needed a pad, as the pocket is only 5cm thick and you lever on it alot! solid but high and worrying!!!

Well only 9 years too late, but here's some info I knocked up for the bouldering at Las Penitas on Fuerteventura.

I cobbled together the location from some info on a tourist website and some secondhand info kindly supplied by Falling Down, the rest is my own recon. It was pretty hot so apologies if any of the grades are out.

Just back from a quick trip checking out some of the boulders on Greg's info. Great job on putting in original topo together to get things started. With the help on this and meeting Josafat, the main developer of the area we've made another mini guide expanded on Greg's info and a few new areas. For a short break away for a bit of bouldering in the sun there's plenty for a weeks trip with a bit or exploration or combined with a bit of surfing.

Looks quality!
I'm considering a last-minute trip there, do you know if there's any options for pad rental on the island?
-
There is a company called climb-fuerteventura who can rent a pad but unfortunately the guys were on holiday when we visited so couldn't get one. You can contact Steffen Grade either on:

Nice work on the new topo James! I've added the new topo link and the crash pad rental info to this short article I wrote to the area.
