Title: Hanging out - Hammock recommendations?
Post by: SamT on June 19, 2017, 04:35:51 pm

Wanting to pick up some lightweight hammocks to take camping abroad in the summer, will be flying/camping so needs to be lightweight.

The decathlon ones look good for the price... https://tinyurl.com/y7zwls4h

 anyone any experience?

For actual sleeping in, or just chilling? I've tried sleeping on them before and never been comfortable.

I had a string one for ages which packed down tiny. Great for chilling on afternoons too hot to climb once you got into it.

Check out 'Ticket to the Moon'  :google:
Good quality, lightweight and easy to set up - comes with cord etc.
Perfect for lazy afternoons.  Had a couple of these for 5 years or so now and think they are brilliant.

Very similiar to this only lighter green. A bit awkward to get into, and to tension right, but once you get it right, great for a siesta.

Cheers guys.

Having spoke to a couple of folks who have them, I plumped for a decathlon one.  At £9.99, coupled with a recommendation from someone who has had one for a year or so and has it in his garden at the moment, seems too good to turn ones nose up at.

Should have gone down to the Hammock District to see what's available.
