OK,
Mrs FD, I and me eldest ( 14 ) , are interested in the kind of team races where its 5 to 8 km... with like stuff in the way.. you know.. the odd wall, rope swing, crawl etc.. I'm up for it too..
i admit i have yet to search the web, but knowing you lot there will some knowledge out there..
we think it would be a great larf, as in i cant run, but am great at getting over such and would be a fun way to focus us all on some family fitness training...
so one and all, what is there out there? how hard are they? what are they like?
cheers for any info!

A few folk at work do the Ythan Challenge every year and say it is utterly knackering but brilliant fun. Is that the sort of thing you mean?

the endurer dash is good, cheap and local
about 8km of fell running interspersed with fairly easy obstacles about every 500m

plus there's another coming up in a couple of weeks.

Did the London version of this one (http://www.mhsurvival.co.uk/) last year and am doing the Cardiff one in October. Probably not the cheapest but was good. There are course maps and photos on the website to give you an idea, I think they are all 10km with lots of obstacles.

mrs pritch did the Sheffield Man of Steel this year and enjoyed it a lot. 10km with obstacles and carrying sandbags up muddy hillsides.
