Title: Heavy duty weight belts
Post by: Monolith on September 19, 2023, 02:07:46 pm
Please can somebody point me to a weight belt with chains that are actually substantial. Many of Amazon’s offerings look like you could take a high E grade for dangling substantial kg over your feet.

How heavy are you thinking of going?

I've got this one https://www.strengthshop.co.uk/products/strengthshop-nylon-dipping-belt?variant=42327132340477 which is fairly flimsy but they claim it can do 60kg. I've gone up to 50 with no hassle.

I've just seen that they do a super strong version which is tested to 140kg! https://www.strengthshop.co.uk/products/strengthshop-chainless-dipping-belt?variant=42327178379517

My preference has always been for an old Wild Country trad harness (so with plenty of padding) with the leg loops removed and a sling (the current one was found abandoned on a route).

I bought a cheap dmoose one off Amazon and done 55kg pull-ups with it, you’d be surprised how much they can actually hold

Might have some spares if you go down this route. Will need to check what our old housemate left here.
