Title: Finger issues - extensor slip?
Post by: JJP on July 13, 2019, 03:46:33 pm
Hi all

Around 7 or 8 years ago I injured my left middle finger whilst crimping and twisting a bit. Heard a pop and the finger became swollen and bruised on the medial/ pinky side of the joint just beyond the PIP and on the extensor side.

Since then the finger has always been weaker and intermittently becomes swollen and tender at the same bit. I always assumed it was a collateral ligament injury and nursed it through with stretches and finger putty.

It is being slower to heal this time and mentioned it to a colleague at work who thought it may be an extensor slip injury. Anyone ever had or heard of this? Any tips?

If it doesn’t sort itself in next couple of weeks will prob try see someone about it. Cheers.
