Don't know what the official line is - I heard from one of the staff. It was announced to them on Friday I think.

Always rated The Edge a lot - sure it was a bit tight in there but the angles and setting always felt good to me, bouldering and routes.

Bouldering wall was always shite but the woody was good while it lasted.

Agree the woody was brilliant. Despite Percy and Tom working there it never felt like it was run by climbers though

New tenants will now take over the space being vacated by the snooker club and bar, to be renovated into a new venue that doesn’t include snooker.
“I’ve met the new people coming in,” says Andy, “they are from one of the city centre bars.
“They are fantastic people. I and all the team just wish them all the best because it is a wonderful building.”

The snooker club is separate from where the climbing wall will be as I understand it.

The Edge might not be gone forever.
Word is that John Graham (who started GO Outdoor) is casting around for a new tenant to run it as climbing wall.
