By the way, (woz), I augmented your Tube topo with directions you sent me. Hope this is ok - I know you are keen for people to check it out, so I thought it might be good to include some directions.

Would be good to see some other topos to less well documented areas, if anyone feels like making them - the new stuff on Beginner's Wall for example, I've heard this is pretty good. Or Toad Hall, or places like Birchens, or Curbar edge, or Bamford. I know some of these are partially covered by BMC guidebooks, but I'm sure a lot of people would be more inspired by a specific boulder/highball circuit.

Heard from Tim that he has updated the bradley quarry topo to include some new problems done by Tony Simpson, including a couple of V8s and a three star V9 called Dogma. Looks like a fair amount to go at - I'm definitely keen for a visit sometime.

Had a nice walk through dovedale today. I took this photo, and it may just prove handy for locating the Tube. It was taken with my back to Ilam rock:

the highlighted area at the top is the rocky knoll which you walk down from.

 Nice little topos those, well laid out, clear and easy to follow (based on my memories of going to Wimberry).

Good stuff. Maybe a mod can stick em in the top post...

Did you do Dave's trav, by the way? I'm surprised if it's only 7b, despite Dave thinking it was pretty straightforward. Gnarly monos. Felt desperate to me (didn't do it).

Did Daves traverse by a totally different sequence yesterday. The hold that he uses as an intermediate before the move to the mono didn't appear to be there..any ideas?

After the mono I dropped to the crimp underneath with my left as Dave does but then held that and went very low to a gnarly pocket for four fingers and then left to the pocket that Dave 'roses' to.

Anybody else do it like this or as Dave did it?

r-man I agree very physical for a 7b but it's not exactly a give away grade is it?

Fair enough if 7b is right. I just got nowhere when I tried it.

Jesus, re-read that post, didn't mean for it to sound like a lecture  The intention was for it to say that 7b can actually be bloody hard.

I couldn't have done it the way in the video either, my feet would have been far too low to get to the 'rose' pocket from the position I was in.
