We’re using JMS Refurbishments to do our kitchen, bit of a bigger job - he was recommended by a couple of people but isn’t due to start until next month. Happy to update with thoughts once he’s done.

Lurgy Club....

M: AW with GF - Did two routes, came out in a cold sweat! Fucked it off...
T, W: Sick
T: Works with a mate - No energy. Did a bit, felt shit
F: Nowt
S: Walk in't Peak
S: AW with Energizer Bunny - Verdon in 6 weeks so need to get some stamina. Did a load up to F6b+, was enough as still felt shocking! 3 x 1min foot-on campus sets...

Begining to feel better but whatever I had floored me! Thought it was an extended hangover at first but just kept going! Glad to be feeling better this week but still wiped!

Many middle age male climbers still jump higher than all female 9a climbers.

That's like one of these tricky logic true-or-false maths exam questions.

We used Norman 07909826845 recommended to us by Jamie big hands and he's done stuff for a few other folk on here. Last time I spoke with him he was super busy though.

I love reading this type of stuff as I find it amazing... The way I sleep is I get into bed decide now is the time to sleep and then am getting woken by my alarm. In between nothing usually unless I get disturbed by the kids and even then I might vaguely hear something is going on and then just go back to sleep. It is like I just lose 5-8 hours of my existence. I don't remember ever dreaming.

I have needed to shake the wife from sleep paralysis though (pretty obvious when it is occurring with the noises she makes), she says it helps as she feels trapped and likes to get out of the situation.
My partner has so far battled a wall of giant reds spiders (while stamping on my slumbering body), yanked the bed clothes off to chase “escaped hamsters”, pushed her foot through a duvet cover trying to “apply the brakes before hitting a lorry”, clambered over me to get to the windows (which she threw wide open) to “let the swam of bees out” and sworn blind that the walls were moving/closing in; to name but a few of the past 12 years nighttime adventures…

Even Paul feared himself and the Jihad. Trying very hard to avoid his “fate”.
The Messiah book is a much harder read, though.
Probably knowing the books too well, leads to filling in the bits the movies glossed over. So, I didn’t view it as glorifying war.
I suspect Herbert wanted to point out that human nature makes it “Hobson’s Choice” (just to drop another movie reference in there, as well as the 16th C pondering on the lack of true alternatives). Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Traverses seem popular with old Bleausards.

Isn't that a bit of the case that people like stuff that was popular when they were young?

...

But my boomer opinion is that no bouldering wall should be taller than a Moon board for any reason. And that all high-balls should be toproped.

M.

S. Light board session whilst trying not to land on a toddler.

I'm off to Lakes in a couple of weeks so focus is on trying to stay in shape and uninjured!
