Post by: andy bowie on July 31, 2005, 01:00:09 pm
technical help please! - there is an awesome essential mix on radio1 from global gathering, jon digweed giving it some. anyway, the question is how do you record this onto your computer? do you need to buy some kind of software which records this as it plays? if so can anyone recommend? its not that i want free music or anything. (or am i missing a button which says download/record..)

Try Total Recorder: http://www.highcriteria.com/

If you don't want to pay for the full version, then explore the usual channels.

Also try RM Recorder: http://www.wmrecorder.com/rm_recorder.php (I'm assuming that the Beeb streams are still in rm format)

Alternatively, you'll probably be able to get it via p2p in a short while - most of the Essential Mixes are on p2p networks like Soulseek.

Apparrently, Radio 1 have just introduced 'Podcasts' of highlights of the week, so it may even be possible to download it,as an MP3, off the website, later in the week

Just checked that out but unfortunately it's a trial service and they're only offering a limited number of podcasts - "The best of Moyles" is the only one from Radio 1.

full list: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/downloadtrial/subscribe.shtml

Be good if the trial leads to a full service though.

word - am trying to find the Underworld set from Friday night without success, I was there and they rocked the place!

Weirdly, managed to get a cheeky climbing session in at 1am, off my face on one of those weird vertical conveyer belt wall things...flava.
