Title: Northumberland 15th Aug - 21st Aug: pad hire / lend?
Post by: tommytwotone on August 03, 2020, 10:24:17 am
So I've booked to get away en famille to Northumberland and (honestly) have luckily bagged somewhere really close to climbing at Hepburn etc.

Only issue I think that with holiday bags etc I'm gonna struggle to fit my pad in the car. Know a few UKB-ers are from up that way - any knowledge on pad hire? Or would some kind soul have one they could lend me?

Cheers in advance.

You will struggle to hire up here. I don’t have spare that I can give you for the week but more than happy to lend you pads when not in use. I will be in sheff for three days.

Only live 20 mins from Hepburn.

Strap one to the roof for the journey up 3T? Or are you already roof boxed up?

No - I started looking into roof boxes but fittings aren't cheap for the Saab. TBH this might be a good excuse to buy a smaller secondary pad!

No need - just run cargo straps over the roof and under where the door opens. I’ll talk to you off line if you like.

If you’re coming past Richmond on the A1 you can quite happily borrow mine. One is an old Franklin, the other an S7 donated to me by TC.

They’ve not been used in years as I’ve not climbed for years!
