Potentially interesting development for the solitary

We already know that not having the partner check to mitigate human error means that other strategies are needed to prevent death when using autobelays, so I'd want to see something similar built into this before getting enthusiastic tbh.
-
I note that it cuts out just as he's trying to pull slack through...
-
It would be interesting to know if it can differentiate between a full high on the wall or low on the wall, seems like otherwise you could be hitting the floor or taking a hard catch high up.
-
Is this the solution to my "indoor partner for regular falling practise" needs?? :ninja:
-
Wonder if it chats to other bluetooth devices while supposed to be paying full attention to belaying. Also, does it have 8.5mm rope capability? Asking for a friend..
-
Unless it detects hesitance or vibrations through the rope due to getting pumped and shaking like a shitting dog and calls out a number of preselected phrases (including "go on", "send it", "you got this" "looking solid" and "give it some") I'm not interested.

Let me know when they do a Punter Grade version.
