Can someone please advise me regarding Crank Caves - Merseyside.
What are the bouldering problems here like? The UKC guide states 500 problems, is this true/false? I'm looking at heading over tomorrow with a friend to get stuck in if this is the case.

Thanks

It looks like horseshit to me. But it's on the internet, so it must be true. Reckon you'd be better off going somewhere actually proven to exist.

Isn't this where Simon O'Connors' I Did It My Way V14 is?

I think calling them 'Crank Caves' is a bit glamorous. They're actually caverns and from the pictures I remember seeing the other year, it looked like you'd be climbing coal roofs in the dark. Take the almost equivalent drive to Snowdonia and have a much better and more productive use of time.

I've found a vid on YT. see what you think

Its not bouldering, more what they look like.

Look pretty fictitious to me too ;)

I'll stand by my original suggestion still I think! I promise you you will get so much more out of going to Wales. Head to the RAC boulders and the Cromlech boulders. If this doesn't make any sense, stop in Llanberis and pick up a copy of Pantontino's North Wales bouldering guide. Enjoy!

Yeah, I'm off to Llanberis to stay with a mate and get some good quality bouldering in at the end of the month. I'll defiantly pick up a the guide you speak of, as I have no idea where the good spots are.
I've just spoken to Jim and it looks like a Pex Hill day tomorrow, get some finger training in.
