Title: Total Noob!
Post by: Caspa on February 04, 2006, 09:05:18 pm
I'm totaly new to bouldering and have bought the right equipment but I'm not sure whether to just go out and try it or join a class. Are there specific techniques that need to be learned in order to actualy climb?

Yeah, used to be well into the troll shizzle, but they've almost disappeared and I got a stylish BD number that's just as good.

I really don't know what a troll is. I haven't been on many forums before and I don't know how they work. If I've done anything wrong then I'm sorry!

The implication is that you are attempting to wind us up with your post. According to Wikipedia, a troll is :

Quote from: "[url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll
wikipedia[/url]"]In Internet terminology, a troll is a person who posts rude or offensive messages on the Internet, such as on online discussion forums, to disrupt discussion or to upset its participants. "Troll" can also mean the message itself or be a verb meaning to post such messages. "Trolling" is also commonly used to describe the activity. For more discussion on definitions, see below.

(just go out and try it)

Hmm, good link.

A big problem with internet forums is the ease with which things can be taken out of context! So, whilst you are genuine we battle hardened forum regulars are often too cynical.

Awww guys you've let me down. You're normally all warm and huggy with a sypathetic ear and sage advice for newcomers. If I want cynicism I can always go to RT. Bring back that youthful acceptance coupled with the wisdom of age.

Shame on you, shame.

And Caspa, in words of the late great Sir Constance Michaelmas Nike, now sadly departed of this world, though his legacy goes on, like the thundering corporate juggernaut that it is, "Just Do It".
