So, am after a small camcorder to take on longish routes, both winter and summer trad. Also something that will stand up to the Alps and such like.
It needs to be,
Light
Small
Good battery
Good quality
Able to be used in the cold
Assume memory card is the best for this type of thing nowadays rather than hard drive?
Hit me up people.

Go Pro? Newer versions are so versatile, quality is brilliant.

If you're not arsed about mounting/wearing it then a decent smartphone would probably suffice. Some are waterproof these days too.

Otherwise something like this?

I've got an old Sanyo Xacti and like the handheld design. Easy to stash in pocket.

Got a Go Pro already but want a camcorder. Not really interested in using my phone, but thanks anyway. Lets just say i like spending money!

well worth having a play with one of those vertical gun-handle shaped things like the one that Chris linked to
I've used a couple of similar things at other people's weddings, parties etc and found them to be properly usable with one hand

slightly cheaper, but not shockproof is the difference. And no wifi or slomo, and less waterproof
(You haven't got me shopping for a new one honest :))
edit - added a bit
