Title: Sore/swollen knuckle
Post by: Three Nine on May 16, 2007, 09:36:28 am

hi all,

got a problem with my left index finger. its very sore on the knuckle, which is swollen, and is quite stiff and sore to flex. had it for 2 weeks now, not much sign of improvement. not sure if i did something climbing (certainly i dont remember a trauma event). i can climb on it, but its a bit sore. had it x-rayed and nothing wrong with the bone. not sure what do do. ive just taken a load of time out for another injury and am not keen to repeat it. anyone have experience of something like this?

thanks, Mark

I've got the same problem. Took three weeks off (I was skiing so it wasn't a chore), felt loads better, started climbing again and it's back to square one.

A friend said there was some info on Dave Macloed's site but it's blocked at work so I've not had a chance to look.

Any info would be great!

I'm having exactly teh same problem but on my right hand! I know it happened while clibing in the roaches but again there was no traumatic event. I can still climb but struggle to make a fist.

I'll post again if I find anything useful
