John Welford has climbed the line between West End Girls and the hanging V6 arete (Breakfast arete i think), at around the 7c/V9 mark. The problem involves a big move off an undercut, with bugger-all in the way of footholds, to gain a ripple and thence a big jug, where the prob ends. The direct finish looks hard and scary.
-
I've tried this-and too true-there ain't no footholds. Good send.
-
Did he name it?
-
Not as yet i don't think.
-
I propose he names it one of the following:
Westsiderz
Westwood
Westfast (pun on breakfast)
Westfield (sheff based health insurance...)
etc etc.
My favourite is Westwood baby!
-
I think he should name it Westlife in honour of the fantastically talented band who everyone loves.
Please don't tell me there already is a Westlife :?

He is very close to probably the first repeat of the sit down to Westworld too. He likes Burbage West doesnt he!
Anyway, this new problem must be hard, he hasnt give it 7b+
-
he is also probably the only man to have tried the sit start to westworld. it's a pity when uve done everythin that taste sometimes has to take a back seat.

Err don't really understand where this is. You mean the V6 left of Famous Grouse? Is it further left? Which is West end girls?
-
word its the vertical wall right of the V6 arete thing - its kinda obvious when you're there innit.
-
So its a direct/leftwards finish on the HVS wall, just left of Famous Grouse? And the HVS ting is West end girls?
-
No it's further left again from the HVS thing which is called West End Girls in the Peak Bouldering Guide.
